Ummm, Anyone Still Here??

So, I've neglected my blog a little bit lately.  I'm not sure why really.  Sure, I'm "busy"...aren't we all?  I've always been busy and made time to document things, but I really don't have a reason I've taken a month leave of absence this time!  I'll try not to let it happen again.

Okay, so update on the birds...well, they're long gone.  We did get a picture of them in the yard just before they flew away.  Aren't they cuties?
I should warn you...I have a terrible memory so this post is really just going to be about the pictures.  There are 48 of them, so it should keep me occupied nicely!!

Here's Katherine lounging on the back porch.
Since we now have two kiddos who will want to play in the back yard (and you'll see an example later), John and I decided (and John implemented) that we'd make our back porch a nice "cool" (for Dallas) place to lounge.  We got new furniture and a fan/misting system.  Oh yes, we do it up right at the Ferguson casa.

This is a picture of the dog (her name is Molly) sleeping.  Yes, she sleeps flat on her back.  She also sits down to eat.  You think she thinks she's a cat?
Katherine and the dog don't really know if they want to get along with one another, if they're jealous, or if they're friends.  It's pretty funny to watch the two of them interact.  That's Molly in the bottom of this picture.
Wow - look at how big Katherine looks!  This was just before going to bed.
And this is waking up the next morning.  Doncha love the hair??
Katherine makes the funniest faces!  When she's fake-crying, we call it the Pop-eye face, she closes one eye.  This is a bit of a smarty-pants face.
For the end of the school year, David's elementary did a "field day".  I think we used to call that "Play Day."  I wonder if that's un-PC now or something?!?  Anyway, David's right about centered in the picture and his teacher is above and to the left with the sunglasses.
She was about 7 months pregnant when this picture was taken.  Can you imagine being outside in May all day long with 5 and 6-year-olds?

Over Memorial Day, we went to Lake LBJ just outside of Austin for some much needed R&R.  John got David all set up in the minivan with his own DVD player and Nintendo DS area.  You think the kids are spoiled?
And here's Katherine enjoying her video during the trip.  Mommy sat in the backseat to help entertain.  Yep, I'm REAL entertaining.
Once we got there, we had a great time.  The weather was perfect and the place we stayed was perfect.  Here's another one of Katherine's many expressions:
That's a fake cry, but it's not the Pop-eye one.

Here's me & David riding the jet ski.  Man I love those things!
And Daddy & David on the jet ski.
David said that we went too fast.  Clearly, the boy doesn't have enough Hutchens blood in him, right Daddy & Lisa??

This was the view from our patio.  That's John & David playing in the pool.
We got David some flippers.  It was hysterical watching him try to walk in them.
David & John also went fishing off the dock some.  I don't remember how many David caught, but I'm sure he does.  I think it was 6 or 7.  Yes, they threw them all back.  David had a great time.
Katherine watching the boys...
This was an evening...David's playing his DS.
Katherine is learning her letters...
On the way home, we'd let the kids get in the pool just before getting in the car.  Well, we'd let David get in the pool.  Katherine was fully clothed, but decided she wanted to play in the water on the top step of the pool, so she was soaking wet.  So she rode home in a diaper.

Just to stay in style though, she's sporting the sunglasses.
David still in his cubby-hole in the back playing DS.
He had a LOT of time to play.  This is what we looked at for a LONG time on I35.  Joy.
Overall it was a wonderful trip to the lake!  We had a great time!!

Here's Katherine after I took a ponytail out of her hair.  I just thought this was funny.
John coached David's t-ball team this year.  The boys all did great and we had an end-of-season party at one of the family's houses.  Here's John, the assistant coach, and the boys.
John handing out David's trophy.
The very yummy cake they got.
David also went to a Rangers game with Daddy.
I don't remember why he was doing this but this picture makes me smile every time I see it.
David was REALLY excited to see the fireworks!!
He actually sat through an entire double-header.  They only got out of their seats one time.

Here's David showing off his goodies.
Again, in the backyard...Katherine BEGS for bubbles every single time we go out there.  This must be genetic...David was the same way.
Another Katherine face.  This is what she does when you tell her "no more bubbles, mommy is tired of blowing bubbles and is getting a headache!!!"
David also played his first indoor soccer game.  Wow - ummm, that's a LOT different than outdoor.  I think the boys can learn some good lessons!!  This is just practice, I didn't take any pictures during the game.  The boys didn't need any distractions.
MORE backyard...we got out the slip-n-slide a couple of weekends ago.  It was Katherine's first time and I think she totally got into it.
John would slide her down it and she'd land in the pool at the end and smile and giggle.  David was running circles around her.

I thought this picture was hysterical.  Doesn't it look like one of those swimsuit model "pouty" poses?!?!
Here is an "after" picture when the storm came through Dallas.  We didn't see any tornados (mostly because me & the kids were hanging out in the bathtub), but the wind was really gusting!  We lost a pretty big tree limb, but several people around us lost half-trees.
Katherine eating pizza for the first time.
David eating pizza *crust* for the first time!

Sporting the stylin' sunglasses.
Another expression.  This is actually a fake smile - almost a polite smile.  Like when I say something funny, but she doesn't think it's funny, so she smiles like this to be polite.
John and I went on a date night for our 13th wedding anniversary.  Here's our attempt at a self portrait in the car.  We were at a stop light people, no emails about safety please.
At Stephan Pyles for dinner. YUMMY!!!!!
Last event over the last month was - we went to see some friends and try out their new swing set.  David and Katherine had a great time playing with Graham!!
Aren't these two cute!?  Graham is about 3 months older than Katherine.
Here's the swing set!!  Katherine loved the slide.  She'd lean WAY back when she went down, but she'd go down by herself.  So cute!!
What is it about kids that makes them want to go UP a slide instead of DOWN it?!?!?!
Sorry it's been so long since I posted.  Hope this was worth the wait!!!

I was just thinking about the new puppy the other day. It looks like Katherine has a little faux hawk after her ponytail was taken out. First time eating pizza? Did she not indulge that night at Cavalli's? Audrey always asks for bubbles when we go outside too. We got one of those slightly automated things that blows the bubbles for you. You do look great on your date night.

Wow- now that's a Monster Post! :-) Love all the pics. Yay for Hunter and Harbor Bay (the doves). Katherine's expressions are so cute. Yay for seeing more of Molly! The slip-n-slide pics are great too (of course, ALL of the pics are great).

Lily is the same way with bubbles. We found some great "no-spill" (mostly no-spill) bubbles that work well for toddlers at Target. I think Lily mostly loves to hold the bubbles container and then play (like with a stick or grass or something). Most kids have a security blanket. Lily has security bubbles. :-)

Yep, not enough Hutchens blood in that boy -- the one time I rode a jet ski, I wanted to go as fast as possible!

Love all the pics! Gotta come see those kids. Maybe sooooooon. I've gotten to be such a grumpy traveler though. Can I bring my own bed? ;-)

Wow - they are getting to big! Its so funny to see Katherine in the same clothes that Karsyn has - like the nightgown and gymboree plaid dress. Great minds shop alike, huh? :-)
