The Boo Boo

On Thursday last week, John got a call that David had fallen off the balance beam at school and cut his chin open.  The school nurse (who is not *really* a nurse...who knew?!) said that she thought he might need a stitch or two but that he was doing fine in her office.

John rushed out to go get him while Mommy frantically looked online and called our pediatrician to find out where we should take him.  Turns out there is an emergency clinic in our neighborhood and they didn't have anyone there!

The doctor was able to use this fancy schmancy glue-like stuff instead of stitches, so that was nice.  John tells me that everyone in the office said David was so brave and tough so they gave him a sucker and FIVE stickers.  When they called me to tell me they were leaving, that's what David was excited about - the stickers!

They also went by David's former pre-school after the clinic since they were close by.  They saw David's pre-school teacher Ms. Ana whom we love, so that was fun too.

David was so strong and brave - we're so proud of him.

Here's  a picture of his chin with the glue stuff.

That's a pretty bad cut. Good for him for being so brave. I'd come up with a better story than a balance beam though ;-)

Oh wow! That glue stuff is cool. I didn't know they had that. I can't imagine how nerve racking that whole ordeal was! I'm glad David handled it well, too. He's such a brave boy!
