David Knows Diddly

We don't have any pictures from today, but I just have to tell  you about our day!

It started out busy, like every Saturday.  We went to Walmart.  We went to Target.  We went to get David's hair cut.  We went to Kohl's.

Oh - side note - we'll be getting in to SUPER good shape since were *finally* able to find and buy a Wii Fit!  It's so fun to do and it actually makes working out a tee-ninesy bit better than a root canal.

Anyway, David had a soccer game just after lunch.  We are working with David on being aggressive and hustling, so John did his normal pep talk in the car.  We start the game and the boys all seem like they need a nap!  But they do finally find their groove and they played GREAT!  One boy that doesn't get very many goals (other than David) scored 3 times, had an assist and even had a break-away goal.  David had FOUR (4!!!!) goals today!  He really did well.  He was paying attention to where the ball was; he was going after it; and he was following the directions of his coach and his daddy!  He did great and he and the other boy got the extra tickets for having a great game.  All the boys did well, so the coaches (man, that assistant coach is HOT!!) gave all the boys two tickets.  They all had a great time.

After the soccer game, we spent some time playing the Wii Fit and some other normal Saturday stuff.

Then David had a t-ball game this evening.  David was the first up to bat and hit a pretty good line drive straight to the pitcher.  Then, when he was in the field playing shortstop, he stopped a grounder right in to his glove!  Then he immediately whipped it over to first, just like he's been taught!  The very next kid was a line drive straight to David and he CAUGHT IT!!!!  Now, if you've ever watched under-6 league t-ball, you know that the kids *never* catch balls.  They throw it, they hit it, but they don't catch it.  When David caught that ball, you'd have thought that someone hit a home run!!  The crowd went wild.  David was so proud and made some little comment that provided quite the comic relief (as he always does).

David had a great sports day!  I know his daddy is SO proud!!!

Yeah for david and all of his sports glory...even with the injury! Impressive.

Okay...and you've traded your iphone for a blackberry?

Sounds like a great sports day all around. I know it's all about the kids having fun and learning to play on a team, blah blah blah :) but isn't it sure is fun to see them do well too!

Your comment of actually catching the ball (for 6 yr olds) cracked me up. It sounded like a major league scale play! Way-to-go David!
