Today was Katherine's checkup. She was so happy when she woke up and saw me. At first she looked confused..."Mommy, when I went to sleep, I had Ms. Lori and I was in my crib. Now I'm in my car seat and I have no idea where I am!" She laughed and played with me until I tried to give her the Tylenol. Then she was UNHAPPY! She screamed and cried, and then spit up...a lot. I hate that she did that, but at least they saw it and saw how much she spits up when she does - and saw how upset she gets and acts like it's hurting her. Anyway, she weighs 14 pounds, 14 ounces - more than double her birth weight of 7 pounds. She's 26" long. She's in the 75th percentile for weight and head circumference and the 95th percentile for height. Yep, we Ferguson's grow 'em big!
I don't think I blogged it, but a week ago, we took her in and the doctor changed her medicine to Prevacid. It's the same pills that David takes, but Katherine takes 1/2 a pill every day. It doesn't really seem to be doing any good though, so the doctor told me to give it another week, and if she still isn't any better, to start giving her the 1/2 a pill twice per day. So that means she'll be taking as much as David every day - just spread out! I just hate that, so I asked him again about referring us to a chiropractor. He told me if I'll do the searching to find someone that will work on infants and has experience with reflux, he'll write the referral, so that's good. Now I have to start the hunt!
He also told me to start her on rice cereal (which I already have). She's thrown up the last 2 times we've fed her though, so he told me to try different consistencies and if that doesn't work to try grain or oat. If that doesn't work, then wait a week or two and try again. So that should make for some fun video'ing and pictures!

Glad to hear the appt went well. Getting babies to take Tylenol is so hard. Hopefully the Prevacid stuff will work for her.
Here's hoping the hunt ends well! I'd have a suggestion or three for you in Austin, but in Dallas I got nothin'...
