This is her this morning under a new blanket. It's so soft and I think she likes it! This morning when I dropped her off, her teacher gave me her artwork from last week! They did the "Brown Bear" book last week. They read the books to the babies every day, and then they finger painted brown bears and the teacher took their picture and put it on the artwork. It's ADORABLE!! I know of course that her teacher did the finger paint, but she did say Katherine's hand did get in the paint - they want them to get used to the texture and moving their hands around on the paper.
David took a bath tonight with blue coloring. We called it swimming in the ocean. I think he likes it! He had a good day at school today getting THREE (!!!!) lucky charms. See, lucky charms are what his (brilliant) afternoon teacher uses to motivate the kids. They earn lucky charms for doing good things. Today, David told me he earned one by helping pick up, one by being quiet when he was asked and one for playing quietly. The beauty of the lucky charms is that if they earn 7 during the whole week they get a prize! David thinks this is super cool - and the prizes are kids' meal toys from various fast food restaurants! I think that's hilarious because David gets toys like that quite often, but they are SO much better when he earns them!
David had soccer practice tonight. He did pretty well. Before his game on Sunday, John had a stroke of genius and made up a game to help David do well during the games. He derived a point system where David earns points for doing good things on the field. He gets a point when he kicks the ball, when he steals the ball from the other team, when he goes after the ball, you know, generally good soccer behavior. If he scores, then he gets FIVE points. His goal for the game on Sunday was to earn 10 of these "points." If he went over and earned 15 points, then he gets a STAR!! My friend asked, "What does he get with the points?" See, to David, the points are their own reward, after all, he gets to COUNT THE POINTS!!! And he gets to keep track of the points, and if he does really well, he gets STARS!! Don't tell David that the points should be redeemable. Anyway, he did really well on Sunday and earned 7 points. We were very proud of him!
They are just about done painting our house. This is a picture from when we bought the house a year ago. Notice the 2 big mushroom-like trees in the front yard right in front of the big window. Also notice the dark color!
And this is the house today - those mushrooms (or as David calls them "muffins") are gone and the color is much brighter! I think it looks great! The biggest difference is in the back of the house - our garage used to be the dark brown color of the trim in the first picture, and now it's this much lighter color.

Glad to hear from you again. I was nervous when you weren't posting. I am also glad to hear Katherine slept all night. What a blessing to get to sleep!
What a fun idea with the blue food coloring. Did it stain David or the tub? You know how Jason is! The house looks great.
Katherine looks so cozy under her new blanket. Blue food coloring is a great idea as is the point system!! The house does look great!!
One thing I know--John and Cindy are going to have to work hard to stay smarter than David and Katherine-way to go on the Soccer point system John, you should share with the coaches!
The house paint color looks great--looking forward to seeing it in person!
