I'm 29 weeks as of last Saturday, so really, if we're rounding up, by Tuesday, I'm 30 weeks, right? Ugh, I'm already ready for it to be February, Katherine to be healthy, and, you know, here.
Here is the updated video of the progression of the belly. Yes, it's larger this week! John is so nice to take pictures as flattering as he can, but he's starting to lose that battle!!
The diabetes seems to be doing well for those of you keeping track. I do have to prick my finger 4 times per day and eat 6 times per day, but that's really not the hard part.
Today, I went to Blue Mesa for lunch with some people from work. If you've been to Blue Mesa, you'll know exactly what I was up against. Ever had to resist those WONDERFUL, manna from heaven, sweet potato chips for an ENTIRE meal?!?! Well, I did. I didn't even have one. That's the hard part people. It's brutal! I know, I know, it's all worth it, and my daughter's health is certainly worth my giving up even those sweet potato chips, but it ain't easy.
I'm just sayin'.
This weekend was spent running errands (David actually said one time that's what Christmas is about...running errands) and wrapping presents. I hadn't wrapped a single gift before this weekend, and I think I counted 24 that I wrapped on Sunday. I usually sit on the floor to wrap, but that isn't gonna happen right now, so John arranged a spot for me on the couch with the big ottoman as a "table". Sheesh - that was a lot in one day though! I counted it as my exercise for the day. You think that'll fly with the dietician?!?!?
David is really understanding Christmas and gifts this year. I was having him put the gifts under the tree after I wrapped them, and he had to look at EVERY SINGLE tag to see who it was for. He was very confused when a gift was from him - you know, from all of us. It had his name on the tag, so it MUST be his, right?! Anyway, he's keeping count. He thinks there are 6 under the tree for him, but I wrapped some of his after he went to bed. I'm not telling him there are more, but tonight he wanted to go find his 6 again and I barely held him off. I love to see him so excited about it, but I know we have to temper that with teaching him that giving is more important than receiving (blah, blah, blah). Ahh, maybe we'll work on that next year!!
I hope everyone had a great weekend - we sure did!
