Anyone who knows me well knows a couple of things about me. First of all, I do NOT like surprises. I know people think that's weird, but I just don't. I prefer to have time to prepare and "gear up" so to speak - for good things or bad - I just don't like to be caught not ready.
Along the same lines, I don't like waiting for Christmas to open Christmas presents!! I know, I know, it's fun to anticipate and wait, but I've just never been so much a fan of, you know, waiting.
Completely unrelated to that, look at what was in the mail when I got home from work tonight:
Back to Christmas. John wanted a watch for Christmas - a pretty nice one. He picked out a Citizen and I got it for him. He knew I was picking it up today, so he knew when I got home that I had it in my hand. He was acting pretty excited, and of course, I can't tell him that we have to wrap it and put it under the tree! Mainly because I don't want to do that! I love Christmas, I love giving stuff and I love people to have it! Now! Not on 12/25, but NOW! So, I wasn't going to push.
So as I start getting the letters out, taking them to Katherine's room to see how they match, he brings a COACH bag into the living room. I stopped in my tracks! Of course, I wanted a Coach, what girl wouldn't love a new nice bag for Christmas?!? So, here's a picture of our presents from tonight:
So, there was much fun around our house tonight. We even let David pick out a couple of toys too - just to get in the spirit. I think he was on board with Mommy's way to celebrate!

Whoa. Miss a week and I miss alot on your blog, Miss Cindy. Love the diaper bag and ceiling fan...go for it.
The growing belly is so, so cute. Nice 28-week sweater, too. Somehow we have got to go back in time to get that 25-week picture though. That is going to drive David nuts to be missing a number.
And go John! What a fantastic bag. Does this mean that I can borrow you fun red bag from last Christmas now???
Can't wait for that Christmas card. LY/MY.
Wow - love the gifts. The coach purse is awesomeness. Good job, John! Katherine's letters are precious. They will look great in her room!
Sounds like a fun night at your house! The letters and purse are nice but the watch is REALLY cool :)
So I'm gonna be the only big sister-ly one here to say you're a big BRAT? LOL.
Love the bag. And the watch. And Katherine's letters. Still shaking my head over your December 13 Christmas, though. You crack me up.
Thank you Lisa for your sentiments regarding early Christmas gift exchange. The problem is that I have fought that battle for over 11 years and I just did not have the strength this year. Cindy won the battle in 2007. She can have this victory. I will be fresh and ready to stand firm again next year. And if you need to know what time it is just let me know. HA! Merry Christmas everyone.
"The husband," I just have to tell you that your comment made me laugh for a good solid ten minutes. You and I know better than anyone this side of heaven how that woman can wear you down, don't we? I appreciate the strength you've shown for 11 years. You did note that I called HER a brat and said nothing about you, right? HA! Still laughing about the whole thing... I can really appreciate the laugh. Thanks!
