Anniversary Date and Outside in the Heat

As you may have noticed on the blog this week, John and I celebrated 14 years together this week.  It doesn't seem like it's been that long!!  What a happy woman he's made me for all these years!

For our anniversary, we decided to double-date with some friends.  We had a great time - we ate at the restaurant inside the top of Reunion Tower.  The restaurant rotates so the view is spectacular.  We went there for Thanksgiving a few years ago, but since then, the whole thing was closed and re-opened as a Wolfgang Puck restaurant, now called "Five-Sixty" since it is 560 feet above the ground.  I've only been to one other Wolfgang Puck restaurant - at Disney World with my SIL - and I don't mind telling you that the food in Orlando was better.  The food Saturday night was good, but it just didn't compare to what Amie and I had when we ate there together in Florida.  After that, we decided that we want to act cooler than we really are so we went to a couple of bars.  We ended up in a "VIP" room at a restaurant/bar that was actually pretty nice!  We aren't really sure how we ranked the VIP status (although maybe that's just a ruse and it really isn't VIP at all - that's probably more likely), but we were able to go in a room and shut the door.  Yes, we're too old because it was TOO LOUD!!!  Anyway, we stayed out WAY past our bedtime, but had a great time with some good friends.

Today (Sunday) John decided it's time to re-floor the swing set that we got for the kids a few months ago.  The floor beams were in pretty bad shape and Mr. Fix-It would have none of that, so he worked VERY hard in the nasty HEAT all day today.  After he was finished with phase 1 of the project, he decided it was a good time to put the sprinkler under the trampoline and get wet!  (Remember doing this Lisa??)

So I got some pictures of the fun.  Don't feel like you're missing anything, I literally haven't taken a picture since the last ones that are on the blog.

Here's Katherine laying down on top of where the sprinkler is coming through.

She told us she's wearing her princesses.  Oh dear, it's already started.

Here are all the feet in the water.  So fun!!

So I'm not really sure when this happened, but I have a half-grown son all of the sudden.  Not sure what that's about, but I just might have to put a brick on his head!

Now he just being silly...

Some sweet Katherine and Daddy time.  This girl LOVES to jump on the wet trampoline.  She gets bounced all over the place and she just screams and laughs - she has a great time!

More Daddy time...uh huh, she's got him RIGHT where she wants him.

Here's that giant kid that moved into our house last week...

I know they grow up so fast, but come on!  He was four a week ago, I promise!!

Hope y'all have a great week!!

Looks like a fun way to beat the heat. I know what you mean about David. I saw a picture of Cole in his catcher gear the other day and thought WHO is this boy?!?!

Yep, I remember sprinklers under the trampoline like it was yesterday.

I heard somewhere that we don't see ourselves as aging because our souls are eternal. I don't feel a lot older than I was when we jumped on our wet trampoline (although my body does, for sure!). Your kiddos look like they'll carry those sweet memories for a long time too. =)

Princesses, eh? I think I've heard of them. ;-) Never thought of the sprinkler-trampoline idea. Neat idea!
