It's a David-ism!

But first, Katherine is showing signs of her mother's and brother's need for order in her life. If we place the pop up toy in front of her, she can NOT let any of the doors remain open. Sometimes she'll accidentally open one while she's trying to close another, but she won't stop until all the doors are closed and the toy is a neat little box again.

Oh yeah, and our girl - she's right-handed. John and I have no doubt.

This is her in front of the pop up toy. No, she's not sitting up in this picture, she's on her tummy. The girl has some arm muscles and she pushes herself up REALLY far.

Here's our girl pushing herself backwards off the blanket on the floor. She's not crawling yet, but she's starting to get her knees under her just a bit. She will push herself up, then backwards and she can rotate a little bit. She's getting so big so fast!

Ummm, maybe I should have edited the paper on the floor out of this picture...oh well.
And David with his cookie face. He LOVES it when Daddy makes him cookies for dessert.
Here's a David-ism. It's been a while since I've posted one. Rest assured, there are David-ism's almost daily.

On Sunday, David was watching John play the Wii. Why the child likes to watch Daddy play the Wii as much as he likes to play it, I'll never know. Anyway, John was playing a golf game where you hit the ball off a tee onto a green with a target superimposed on it. The middle is 100 points, then 50, then 25, then 10. On the upper left of the screen, you can see your current score, how many balls you've hit and how many you have to go. David wasn't really paying close attention, but looked up when John's score was 500 and he had 3 balls left. Almost instantly, David said, "Daddy!! If you get 3 more 50's, you'll get to SIX HUNDRED FIFTY POINTS!!" Ummm, David was excited about Daddy getting 650 points. Mommy and Daddy had to pick their chins up off the floor that he did that math in his head that fast. I almost had to get a calculator to check him (hey, I said almost). Our boy, he loves the numbers.

Sitting up, starting to scoot some on the floor, she'll be chasing David around the house before you know it! I think that pop up toy is 3 little piggies approved!

I agree about the toy. We have it too! Scooting now too? Wow - she is growing up fast. Your picture of David just doesn't convey his love for cookies, I'm afraid - just kidding of course. That's a big cookie smile. He and Lily have that in common, well, sort of. :-)

Impressive math skills, David! What a pro...and I love his math is typically prompted/motivated by a game. Such a cutie.

Cindy, your kids are just too cute! David seems like such a smartie! Congrats on going back to school. I know it will be a lot of work, but your first class sounds like fun.
