Yesterday evening, I was really craving Applebees, but John wasn't on board. I whispered in David's ear "If you tell Daddy you want to go to Applebees, I'll give you a quarter." David tells me, "But mommy, I don't want to eat apple bees!" We finally decided that David and I would go on a "date" to Applebees (after we explained that he can have CHICKEN there) and John & Katherine would stay home. We had a great time! It was fun to be in an environment with him where I could just spend some time listening to him talk. He knows WAY more Spanish than we ever thought. He can count over 100 (shocker), know shapes including trapezoid and diamond, colors, the abc's, the days of the week, the months of the year, occupations, on and on. I really think he could carry on a lot of a conversation if he had to. I asked him if he's learning more Spanish at Creme and he said yes, because they have it EVERY DAY (!!) and the teacher only speaks Spanish to them. I thought that was just awesome. Sadly, today is her last day. I sure hope her replacement is as good as she has been!

Those are great pictures of Katherine. The dress is adorable and her expression is soo sweet. That was a great idea for you and David to have a mom/son dinner. It's a fun age when you can just sit and eat and have a conversation with your child.
That is a cute outfit. Love the little belt too. Her expression is soooo cute. She is such a happy girl. That is so cool to have "Just David" time. I bet he loved it, too. Sounds like he knows a LOT of Spanish!

I need to make a trip up there sometime soon and see all her progress and hear David's Spanish. It's been too long! And hey, I didn't tell you, but my vet friend in Chicago comes to Dallas frequently, so I may catch up with her there in the fall. Fun!
Love that sassy dress! It is so great to have one on one time with a child, too. How crazy that he can speak that much spanish. Says a lot about the schools & teachers. Go David!
