Katherine was in a great mood tonight which is quite a switch from the last few weeks. I'd started to think I was actually, for real, paying for my own raising.
David's swimming lessons AND t-ball practice were both cancelled tonight. He was pretty bummed about it, but now on Thursday we'll have them back to back and an extra swimming lesson on Friday night just in case we were planning something else (we were). We know they cancelled the t-ball practice because the fields were too wet, but we're pretty much at a loss as to why they would cancel swimming lessons at an indoor community pool. Sounds like someone used the rain today as an excuse to let everyone go home early! Anyway, our super busy evening ended up not so much and John whipped up some way yummy spaghetti and meatballs.I guess I forgot to mention it on the blog, but David's going to have quite a transition in the upcoming weeks! His school, which we have LOVED dearly for the last two years, will no longer be his school! They do have private kindergarten, but for many reasons, we have decided that we want David to attend the public kindergarten right by our house. What Pierce does not have is after school care, so David will go to Katherine's school with her beginning in mid-July, and also go there after school when he starts kindergarten. He was really adamant that he didn't want to start there until August 1st. All his friends are at his school, but they have a WATER PARK at Creme, so he HAS to go there for part of the summer. Anyway, we decided we wanted him to go earlier for many reasons, not the least of which is that we're driving about 15 minutes out of the way every day to take him. And you know. Gasoline prices are... Well, anyway. We couldn't convince him that he should leave Pierce early though. He wasn't budging. It was 8/1. But then, we proposed that he spend HALF the summer at Pierce and HALF the summer at Creme. You know 6 weeks at one, 6 weeks at the other. Apparently, that was the magic trick! All we had to do was make it mathematical and linear and now he's on board. So David will soon be on the 3rd day-care of his life...hopefully this will be his last. We're going to miss Pierce. At Creme, I'm quite sure that David won't come home singing about Abraham and all his sons or his Father's house or how Jesus loves him, so we'll miss that. We won't miss the drive though, and Creme really is a great day-care. They have year-round school, which is good for David and his boredom behavior. Anyway, it's a transition. I'm sure there will be pictures to record the moments! Stay tuned!
