It Was the Weekend We've Anticipated for YEARS!

This Saturday was our first t-ball game!  For those of you that don't know, John's pretty much been looking forward to this since they told us David was a boy when I was 16 weeks pregnant.  In fact, it was almost the first thing John said to me - "we get to play t-ball!!"  Yes, yes, I know, girls can play t-ball too, but not the sort of thing you look forward to your baby girl doing for 5 years and 7 months.  Anyway, Saturday was his first game and he was dressed for the part!  We had to take lots of pictures.
Posing with his bat.  Oh yes, John just MIGHT be loving this even more than David.
Look at that intensity on the field!
SWING!!!  His two hits were pretty good!
Rounding 3rd...
This just cracked me up - after he scored, he had to straighten up the tee.  It was moved off home plate so the kids could run of course, but David has to "fix" it.
Congratulating the other team on a great game:
All in all it was a great game.  I didn't get pictures of it, but David did very well fielding the ball!!  A couple of hits went straight to him and he did very well.  He asked the coach after the game if he's an expert now.  Ummm, what do you say to that?!?  David wants to be an expert at a lot of things...Mario Kart, American Gladiator, apparently now, t-ball.

Katherine did great at the game, but we were HOT!  Here are some cute pictures...
All set to go cheer on her brother!!
For the bird update...Here's Baby!  She looks huge to us - way too big to just have been born, but her feathers were a little wet.
Somehow she moved across the porch to an old trash can lid.  She sat here most of the day Saturday and let her feathers dry out.  As of today, we haven't seen mommy or baby!  I guess they flew away!!

What a historic weekend!! David is so cute in that uniform. The Expert stuff is funny. It's sweet that he sets up the tee after his run. I love Katherine's Pink/Blue/Sassy outfit. Looked like some nice bounce lighting too!

You're right about girls vs. boys playing tball! Mary Helen & I played when we were five...but the home videos show that most of our only participation was standing in the outfield and making sure that our bows were positioned properly in our hair. Ha ha! So glad he is having fun and becoming an expert!
Thanks for the tag. I will get going on that when I get home tonight!

It looks like David is really enjoying T-ball. Katherine's "sassy outfit" as Leah called it IS cute.

Love all the pics of your "expert" t-ball player -- and apparently Princess Katherine has decided it's OK to smile for pictures after all! I knew she'd learn to love the camera.
