Wow, it's been a week since I've had a real blog post. My apologies. I'm not sure what my problem has been!

Monday of last week was Katherine's first sick day. It appears she came down with a bit of a cold. She's a bit of a drama queen though - as we are learning every day. See, when David was a baby, he'd get really bad fevers if he caught a bug. It wasn't unusual for him to get to 102. I know lots of babies are like that. Well, you couldn't tell David was sick at all unless you felt him and he was burning up. He'd act completely normal. Not Katherine. Her fever got all the way up to 100.3 and you would have thought I was pulling off her toenails one by one. She was so fussy and picky all day Monday. Poor baby! Anyway, I stayed home with her all day Monday and half the day on Tuesday. By Thursday, we finally got a decongestant prescribed (and yes, we're smart enough to give her the RIGHT dose - which apparently a lot of people aren't since they had to pull infant decongestants off the shelves because parents can't tell the difference between 1 mL and 1 t.)
I digress.
She's feeling much better now - lots of humidifying going on at night, lots of the "nose bulb" as the doctor calls it. She's obviously feeling better because I'm able to type this without her "supervision".
David had a great week - only 2 more weeks at his current school! Then he and Katherine will finally be in the same place. That will be a huge relief to Mom & Dad. We're pretty worn out by dropping off and picking up every day at 2 day-cares. Whew!
This week was a week of milestones! Katherine turned 5 months old and David turned 5 YEARS old! I think that means John & I are getting older too, but I'm not sure.
Katherine was NOT on board with the bunny picture.
David had a great day on Saturday (his birthday). He woke up to a treasure hunt of quarters. John hid 10 stacks of 4 quarters each around the living room and David went on a hunt. He had a great time putting them into his bank! Then we opened his gifts. Of course, his favorite gift was the Wii. He assumed he was getting it though, so we really didn't get much reaction when he opened it! After some fun play time, we headed out to his t-ball game, then back home for a little while. His party was at Chuck E Cheese (he insisted, so I HAD to) and we had a great time. His friends were there to celebrate with him and he's still talking about how much fun it was.
Pictures from the day:
He tagged a runner out at home:
He almost almost burned his lips trying to blow out his candles:
He posed with Chuck:
And he looked really cute:
Katherine and her BFF's also dressed alike for a cute picture. Aren't they adorable? We call them the 3 Little Piggies. They were all born in the year of the pig - we're not trying to be rude. The 3 moms are the J Street Girls - we all live on streets that start with the letter J. Well, we USED to all live on streets that start with the letter J. Our move kind of messed that up, but the name stuck.
I digress again.
We'll leave you with the video of the birthday:
(We apologize in advance for the quality - to make it load-able, it had to be small.)
