My sister-in-law posted yesterday that it was the 20th anniversary of her first date with her husband. Let's say it all together..."Awwwwe."
Yes, it's very sweet. I love my SIL and BIL dearly - they are an inspiration to us as a couple and as parents. They are raising 3 kids and doing it while running their own business and staying true to the values that got them where they are today. Congrats Amie & Gary!
So this reminded me of a funny ("bloggable" as my sister calls it) story.
I watch the Newlywed show on Sunday nights. I don't remember the name, but it's several newlywed couples competing to win just under 1/2 a million dollars. They vote other couples off the show and accumulate more money by knowing one another, etc. You know, the latest in a long line of twisted "reality" programming that suckered me in because I'm a sap. And yes, I also watch The Bachelor. I'm not proud of it, but I do. I know I shouldn't, but it's like watching a train wreck.
I digress...
This is turning into a really long post to tell you something very short. Yes, I come by that naturally.
On Sunday night, they asked the couples where their first kiss was. If their answers matched, they added money to the pot to win at the end.
I got to thinking...hmmm, I don't have any idea where our first kiss was...where our first date was...I remember when we decided we were officially "together" for the last time, but that's hardly an anniversary!
I asked John - he doesn't remember our first kiss either. Well, at least if we're both so unromantic neither one of us can get mad at the other!!
See, that was it.
Anti-climatic wasn't it?
I aim to please.

Fun topic. I can't tell you the date of our first date but I remember the details and that it was sometime in July 1998. We were married by June 1999, less than a year later. Our first kiss was on the porch of my parent's house.
Anti-climatic, yes, BUT still very entertaining. ;-) First date: 9-6-97 (easy to remember as 9697), first kiss was at my apartment in Nac. Awww. It's crazy wild that it was so long ago!
