Child Care Woes

One of the toughest decisions (and most impactful) I think we all make as parents, we often make before our kids are even born.  It's the decision if mom and dad will both work, and if so, who will care for our precious child while we are working.  The choices seem endless, the pros and cons are weighed, and then you reach a decision.  Well, since Katherine is our second child, we've really already done all this decision making.  We've decided that we will both work and we've chosen day-care as where we'll put our children.

Now, to pick a day care...YIKES!  John and I visited every....single....facility in Coppell.  This was no small feat, let me tell you.  I believe there were 6 in all that we saw.  It was obvious when we went to the last one on our list that it was the place for Katherine (and probably also David after school).  It's warm, inviting, the infant care is amazing, and the programs for kids in David's age group seem custom tailored, just for him!!

Thank goodness...that tough decision is now made.  We're on the waiting list (for Katherine) and we feel very good about our decision.  It's certainly a weight off my shoulders to have her on a list.  I'd heard that some places can have lists as long as 4 months, so I felt like we needed to get moving on something!  I think we'll be fine where we are, they didn't seem concerned about having a spot for her.  They also have room for David, so it will be nice when we finally get them in one place together.

Now we only have 999,999 things to do before she's born!!

You know, she'll be born whether you're done with your "To Do" list or not... Don't stress too much. She's just a baby. You know how to do this. =)
