Issue number 1 in Germany...Katherine appears to have developed a case of athlete's foot in the past hour. Well, at least that's what I think it might be. In the U.S., this is no problem. We just run to Walgreens, buy some stuff, begin treatment. Takes 15 minutes.
Here...nothing is open past 1PM on Saturday afternoon (it's 10PM now) until Monday. Well, I say nothing. Nothing except beer gardens are open. Those are open until quite late!
This place looks like Lubbock in 1975 on Sunday pre-the blue law repeal. Quiet, nice, peaceful, restful, no stores bustling, but nothing you can do for a medical non-emergency. Poor baby.
She'll be fine, we treated with some cortisone cream to help with the itch and we'll re-evaluate when we have some options.
On the blog post that's still missing...I took 85 pictures on the drive yesterday from Nice to Freising. I promise not to post *all* of them, but wow - it was a beautiful drive. Most of it was in Italy, but we went through Austria as well for a bit.
Just as a teaser, here is the route we took, shown on Google (highlighted in blue).
We went this way because we thought we might stay overnight in Innsbruck to break up the drive, but when we got there, it was only 1.5 hours more to Munich, so we pressed on.
Yep, that's right, Innsbruck Austria is just under 2 hours from our home.
Is that the craziest ever???

Seems like I remember hearing somewhere sometime ago that they do a little bit of SKIING in Innsbruck!
(But not when it's 85 Degrees out.)
BTW, y'all are doing a FANTASTIC job of writing about your experiences every day. Just want you to know that your writing and pictures are the highlight of my daily experience on e-mail!
Save Innsbruck for when we get there! Can't wait to see and experience some of your adventures first hand. Ditto what Hutch says about enjoying your journaling and photos--love to all.
