A First For The Third Ferguson

First things first, here are some pictures from this last week & weekend.

We had some visitors:

So it's interesting and all that we had ducks in our front yard, but seriously, those roses?!?!  Aren't they amazing?!?!

We spent lots of time playing in the backyard.  Have I mentioned how much we LOVE our new, bigger backyard?!

Katherine tried on a new, cute hand-me-down outfit:

When she was "reading" this book to us, she was saying, "Say, say, say."  Over and over. I guess we really do sound like Charlie Brown's teacher to her!

And this girl, she has an OBSESSION with hair stuff.  She wants a clip or a ponytail or 12 every day.  Here, I allowed her obsession to run wild:
Yes, the cheesy smile is here to stay people.
So now onto the weekend...

After a going night-night marathon I say to Katherine, "Night night twirp." She says, "I'm not a twirple!"

She wanted me to read her a book, but we got side-tracked.  She pointed to the cover of the book and said, "What is that?"  I know that she's learned the parts of a book in school a few months ago, so I say back to her, "What IS that?"  She says, "A cover!"  Then she points to the spine of the book, "What's that Mommy?"  I say, "What's that?"  She says, "A spine!!"  Then we open the book to the title page, Katherine says, "What's that Mommy?"  I say, "What's that?"  She says, "The title page!"  Although the word "title" is kind of hard to understand.  Then she says, "Mommy, who draws the pictures?"  I'm surprised by this one, I have no idea what's coming.  I said, "Who?"  She says, "THE ILL. OH. STRAA. TOR" enunciating every syllable.  Turns out she couldn't come up with "author," so I guess we know what she thinks is the most important part of the book!

Yes the orphan looking girl finally got a haircut this weekend.  I'm holding on to the goal of growing out her bangs, so I didn't have them cut her bangs, but the rest of it finally looks like someone might care about her hair!

In other weekend news, David and Daddy have completed EVERY.  SINGLE.  THING.  In Super Mario Brothers Wii!!!  There was something about having 5 stars on their saved file icon.  Now, their stars aren't sparkling because at some point during their game, they used this little helper guy, but they really didn't need the helper guy because they used many helper people who have put videos on YouTube that told them where everything in the game is.  How did we every play video games before the internet?

So, the biggest part of the weekend...the first for the third Ferguson...

So have you figured out who the third Ferguson is?

The way I see it, John's the first, since he's had the name the longest of the 4 of us.  I'm second, David's third and that leaves Katherine for fourth.  Clear?

DAVID LOST A TOOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the loose one:

So for those of you that don't know, David was a very late tooth-bloomer.  He didn't get his first tooth until he was about 13 or 14 months old.  His dentist warned us that the late-bloomer teeth are also usually the late-loser teeth.  Combine that with the fact that David is one of the younger kids in his class, and he told us tonight that he's the ONLY one that hasn't lost a tooth in his class yet.  SO, now he has!!

The post-tooth-loss picture.
I'm not sure what that expression is, but I suppose it might be a little pain mixed with excitement!

Hiding that tooth under his pillow.
So I guess we'll all have to wait to find out what the tooth fairy brings him!!

an't believe you really tied a string to David's loose tooth--he REALLY amazes me!! The tooth fairy used to bring John a quarter--but I think inflation has had an influence. Recent reports--up to 5 bucks. Congratulations to David--and if his new teeth are as pretty as his baby teeth--who cares if he is late!

Cute pics! Some friends of ours had a visit from the tooth fairy. It was the first visit for their first born. Only- the tooth fairy was out of small bills. So, the fairy gave their son a $10. Now- he expects a $10 everytime! It did expedite the tooth-pullin' from then on, though. :-)
