Katherine had another first this week! She sat in her highchair for the first time. She was fussy when it was time for us to eat dinner, so we tried letting her sit with us. She didn't sit very long, but she did very well for her first time.
She is showing more and more signs of being ready for "real" food. She watches us very closely when we're eating and sometimes will even start moving her mouth like she's trying to chew. Also, she's getting very hungry before it's time for her to eat next. We'll try to wait until she's had her 4 month appointment, but I'm not sure we'll make it!
Here is the princess on her throne: "Hey Mommy, you forgot to put some food on this tray!!"

And here she is one day before school smiling huge at her Daddy!! She's very stingy with her smiles. She won't give them to just anyone, anytime. Her Mommy and Daddy can usually get one out of her, but she's not so forthcoming with strangers. She's starting to talk more and more. Her coo's are adorable of course, and sometimes, she'll really get going and look like she thinks she's having a real conversation.

Katherine's BFF at school was born on the exact same day! They are quite the cuties, as you can see! Katherine taught her to play the air guitar...or maybe she taught Katherine!?

I didn't warn her Mommy that I would be taking pictures this day, so there will be more pictures later when we can coordinate their outfits and make sure they're both wearing some spiffy bows. I sort of had the unfair advantage here - although as usual, they are both dressed super cute.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week at David and Katherine's schools. David's was much easier - just leave money at the front desk for the mom coordinating the week. Katherine's was a bit more difficult with coordinating daily gifts for the teachers when our kids can't even speak. Thank God for email, right? Anyway, it should be a fun week for their teachers, and I hope to get some pictures because the whole thing is begging to be scrapbooked, right?

SUPER cute. Baby BFFs are the best. Love the big smile!
That IS a big smile for Daddy. I haven't heard anything else about nicknames. Does John have a special name for her? Funny about the air guitar. I think she looks like David in the highchair picture!
